Tech Together is a community-centered program and mobile app designed to bridge the digital divide between generations—bringing seniors and youth together through shared learning, safety, and technology. Its mission is to help older adults feel confident and secure using modern tools while giving young people valuable opportunities to serve, teach, and connect. Built with simplicity, compassion, and purpose, Tech Together provides seniors with easy access to emergency preparedness checklists, safety resources, and local community support. Whether learning how to stay connected with family, prepare for hurricanes, or navigate basic apps and devices, seniors are empowered to thrive in a digital world rather than be left behind.

 

At the same time, Tech Together creates exciting youth volunteer opportunities that promote leadership, mentorship, and community engagement. Young volunteers—known as “Tech Buddies”—will assist seniors with phone setup, app tutorials, and technology troubleshooting, while also helping them build confidence through consistent encouragement and friendship. The program offers structured training sessions for both youth and seniors to ensure everyone feels supported. These sessions will cover topics such as basic smartphone use, online safety, emergency readiness, and intergenerational communication skills. By learning and growing side-by-side, Tech Together builds bridges of understanding and compassion—uniting generations, strengthening communities, and proving that technology, when shared with purpose, can connect hearts as well as devices.
